Minister of Culture, Science and Sports Raleb Majadele called for the Akko Festival of Alternative Theatre to be postponed instead of cancelled because of the rioting in the city these past four days. It was to have been held during the Sukkot holiday.

Majadele slammed the Akko Municipality for canceling it. His ministry, Majadele claims, finances the festival. He stressed that the police had not recommended that it be cancelled.
