(IsraelNN.com) Dudi Weissman, owner of the AM:PM chain of convenience stores, said Saturday that he was unaware of repair work allegedly performed by Jews on Yom Kippar. The hiring of Jews to work on Yom Kippur is against company policy, he said. Weissman has faced conflict with the religious community for opening his stores on Shabbat.

According to Israeli law, no commerce is permitted on Yom Kippur without the approval of the minister of industry, trade, and labor. The work that allegedly took place in AM:PM stores on Yom Kippur took place with windows covered so the work would not be seen.
