      Police Increase Alerts beyond Akko

The Yom Kippur rioting in Akko has caused the police to increase their readiness for disturbances nationwide. Focusing on large assemblies of Muslims on Friday, senior police officials told Ynet, "The police will be decisive in their resolve to prevent disruptions to the public order on Friday, following prayers."

Jerusalem District Police Commander Aharon Franco, decided to increase police and border guard presence around the Temple Mount and other parts of the Old City. Police are deploying in other predominantly Arab parts of Jerusalem and in nearby villages.
