Former Director General of Treasury: No Slowdown

Former director general of the Treasury Yossi Bachar told Voice of Israel government radio that he does not foresee an economic slowdown on the horizon in Israel.  He stressed that Israel has a strong economy and has had five years of economic growth. Contrary to some other forecasters, he does not see a reason for people to be worried about their savings in banks here.

Bachar said, "In a period like this of uncertainty, we need balanced consideration, not to come out with bombastic announcements and not assessments that cause people to take actions they otherwise would not take."
