    Qurei: No Peace Without Jerusalem

Palestinian Authority negotiator Ahmed Qurei and Islamic Movement in Israel head Sheikh Raed Salah met recently to discuss Jerusalem. The PA will never agree to peace with Israel without receiving the part of Jerusalem that was occupied by Jordan from 1948 to 1967, Qurei said. Israel has postponed talks on the issue in order to “judaize” the majority-Jewish capital city, he said.

Both Qurei and Salah expressed concern over “judaizing” in Jerusalem. The two also shared concerns over the future of the Al-Aksa Mosque on the Temple Mount. Salah has repeatedly accused Israel of attempting to damage the mosque. Qurei alleged that Israel was attempting to “judaize” the mosque.
