Iran Ayatollah: American Economic Problems Peres' Fault

(IsraelNN.com) A top Iranian official on Friday blamed the current economic crisis in the United States on none other than President Shimon Peres – saying it was “heavenly punishment” for statements made by Peres last month that the international community should target the Iranian economy as a means of discouraging Tehran from developing nuclear weapons.
“The world is trying to hurt our economy,” said Ayatollah Ahmed Jinati. “Three weeks ago, Israeli president Shimon Peres said that Israel and the world should try to damage the Iranian economy, to lower the price of oil, so we would be unable to enrich uranium and buy weapons. But in the end it was the American economy that had the problems. This is a heavenly punishment for the words of the Zionist president. The sadder they are, the happier we are,” Jinati said during a speech on Friday.
