A resident of Yitzhar was arrested on Thursday for allegedly firing his gun two and a half weeks earlier during an altercation with residents of the nearby Arab village of Asira el-Kabaliya. Jews from Yitzhar and residents of the Arab village clashed following a terrorist attack in Yitzhar in which a young boy was stabbed and thrown from a building. Arabs later claimed they were attacked, while Jews said the villagers had begun the altercation.
Police said Thursday that they do not know if the man arrested fired his gun in the air, or if he fired at an Arab. Arab villagers claim they were shot at by Jews, although original reports of several wounded were later proved false.
