'Security' Fence Incites Terror

The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) has issued a report that the multi-billion dollar separation barrier designed to prevent terror actually is inciting terrorists to attack. Officials explained that the so-called wall, which is a series of barbed wire fences except for a few miles of a concrete wall, causes eastern Jerusalem Arabs to feel isolated.

Arabs from the capital have been involved in a spate of attacks this year, including the slaughter of eight Merkaz HaRav yeshiva students and several tractor and car attacks on pedestrians. Most of them have not been linked to any terrorist organization and probably acted on their own.

"Awareness of the fence is creating a long-term estrangement between Jerusalem and the West Bank (Judea and Samaria)," the security agency said in a statement.
