New Israeli UN Envoy Shocked by Welcome for Ahmadinejad

Israel's new ambassador to Israel, Prof, Gabriella Shalev, said Wednesday she was shocked over the international community's welcome and applause for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He told the United Nations General Assembly that the United States and the world would be better off without the existence of Israel.


She also said that when she recently arrived in Washington to take up her new post, she was greeted warmly but her reception in the United Nations was cool.
