(IsraelNN.com) Israeli medical company Medigus will soon begin a clinical trial at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York for the company's S.R.S. endoscopic stapler for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (G.E.R.D.).  If the trial is successful, the company will submit the stapler to United States officials for marketing approval.

Medigus recently announced a successful Austrian trial, with six patients functioning normally and suffering no ill effects from the treatment, as well as being cured of G.E.R.D. and no longer needing related medication.

The S.R.S. endoscopic stapler is being introduced as an alternative to invasive surgery for stapling the esophagus.
