      Livni: We Need Stability

Prime Minister-Elect Tzipi Livni said several minutes ago that she has the tasks of bringing the Kadima party together and stabilizing the country. She told reporters outside her house that her supporters "have no interest other than what is good for the country."

She said that she will meet with opposition party leaders on Thursday in an effort to form a unity government. Likud chairman Binyamin (Bibi) Netanyahu already has rejected the idea. Shas, which is in the current coalition, has said its price of staying in a coalition is an increase in child support payments and the retention of Jerusalem as Israel's undivided capital.
