Terrorists on Monday riddled the car of the mayor of Al-Bireh, adjacent to Ramallah, destroying the vehicle, which was empty at the time. The Bethlehem-based Maan news agency reported that the incident probably was a response to mayor Jamal At-Tawil's campaign against illegal practices.

The mayor is affiliated with Hamas, which has been the target of Fatah-led security forces in Judea and Samaria.
