The National Council of Young Israel has launched a pre-High Holiday campaign to raise money for food for residents of Sderot and the destroyed communities of Gush Katif, northern Gaza and northern Samaria. Synagogues are raising money to buy truckloads of food that will be delivered to the families, whose lives have been disrupted by terrorist attacks and the uprooting of their homes.

A similar campaign was conducted last year and before the Passover holiday.
