A Palestinian Authority Arab terrorist carried out an attack in the Samarian Jewish community of Yitzhar on the Sabbath.

The terrorist set fire to an abandoned building and then tried to ignite a second one, but was stopped when he was accosted by a nine-year-old boy. He stabbed the child and then fled.

The boy suffered light wounds. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and then taken to a hospital in Petah Tikvah. A massive manhunt by IDF and police forces ensued immediately following the attack, and one suspect was arrested.
