Israel has agreed to accept 20,000 Arab "refugees" who abandoned their homes and fled Israel during the 1940 war over the next 10 years, according to a report published Saturday in a Qatari newspaper.

The Al-Sharq article quoted "credible" Palestinian Authority sources as saying the PA would give up the so-called "right of return" in exchange for the deal.

The agreement allegedly constitutes one of 12 clauses that comprise a document Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and PA Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) intend to present by the end of 2008.
