Human remains discovered earlier in the day in a red suitcase recovered from the murky Yarkon River reached the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute in an ambulance Thursday afternoon. Other items were found in the suitcase as well, said police, who declined to elaborate.
It is believed the remains are those of four-year-old Rose Pizem, for whom police and volunteers have been searching since she was reported missing by her great-grandmother approximately one month ago. Rose had been missing for three months before her disappearance was reported to the police.
Her grandfather, Roni Ron, confessed several weeks ago to murdering the little girl, although he has subsequently changed his story several times. He and her mother, Marie-Charlotte Renault, are both being held in custody.
