Lebanese faction leaders are set to meet September 16 for the purposes of forming a "national defense strategy" which will delineate the roles of the regular Lebanese Army and the terrorist militias.
According to a report by the AFP news service, Lebanese President Michael Suleiman called on the country's political leaders "who signed the Doha Agreement... to come meet here in Ba'abda (the presidential palace)." The agreement, which was signed in the Qatari capital after 18 months of fighting between the pro- and anti-Syrian factions, calls for a national dialogue under the president's auspices.
