The first-ever British exhibition on the Holocaust that is geared for children opened this week at a Holocaust center, featuring stories of Jews who survived the Nazi era. The display, called "The Journey," relates the story of a fictional Jewish child who hides from the Nazis before fleeing to England.
Directors of the center also plan to bring survivors to tell their stories to children. "This exhibition offers a child a chance to learn about the experiences under the Nazis of children just like themselves," said Stephen Smith. "We will take them on a journey through history, a journey exploring identity, and a journey to discuss the values of the world we share.
