Israel and the United States are meeting near Washington D.C. in the first joint forum on high technology in an effort to lighten restrictions in regulations on exports to Israel for products that can be used for both civilian and military purposes. Israel will be represented by the director general of the Defense Ministry, Pinchas Burchris.

Products that are governed by tight export rules include high-powered computers, several radar systems and night-vision goggles.
