(IsraelNN.com) Yitzchak Herzog, Minister of Welfare and Social Services, attacked the ministers from the Pensioners' Party following their vote in favor of the bill that would regulate the courts' ability to strike down legislation.

"The Pensioners ministers displayed a complete lack of responsibility today regarding the future of the Supreme Court and they turned their backs upon the ethos of norms and values that lay the foundations which the state of Israel grew from," Herzog said.

He accused the Pensioners ministers of selling their values for "lentil stew" – a reference to the biblical story of Esau and Jacob. "I believe the Pensioners will be sorry in the future" for their deed, he added.
