Beitar Illit to Grow - Peace Now Angry

The Israel Land Administration (ILA) issued a tender Sunday for the construction of 32 homes in the Jewish community of Beitar Illit, in the Judea region.

Radical leftist group Peace Now (Shalom Achshav), which opposes Jewish life in Judea, Samaria, the Golan and other areas throughout Israel, reports that tenders for 450 Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria have been approved since January.

Yariv Oppenheimer, head of Peace Now, complained that the government continues to expand Jewish settlement of Judea and Samaria even as it discusses an evacuation-compensation bill which would encourage residents of Judea and Samaria to abandon their homes after receiving money from the government.
