Jerusalem and Environment Ministry officials are planning to join forces to keep the Mount of Olives area free from construction debris and more attractive to tourists. The ministry recently began a criminal investigation against the city for ignoring the dumping of debris, and the threat of an indictment has promoted a change in policies.
The city is planning two recycling plants, six inspection stations and the placement of surveillance cameras to monitor violations.
