U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney told President Shimon Peres Saturday that "Russia is selling weapons to Iran and Damascus with the clear knowledge that it is being transferred directly to Hizbullah and the terror organizations in Iraq."
The two men met in the course of a diplomatic-economic summit in Italy.
Cheney repeated the theme in his speech. "In the Middle East," he added, "the Russian arms deals endanger the hopes for peace and freedom."
