Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin slammed Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama in her acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention (R.N.C.) Wednesday night, saying, "Terrorist states are seeking nuclear weapons without delay; he wants to meet them without preconditions. Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America; he's worried that someone won't read them their rights."

Palin, who has had to deal with gender issues throughout the campaign, evoked laughs from a crowd of women waving "Hockey Moms for Palin" signs when she said, "The difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull" comes down to one thing: "lipstick." The Alaskan Governor received a warm vote of support from former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, who also delivered a speech calculated to eat away at the Jewish vote for Obama by referring to his flip-flopping on his support for an undivided Jerusalem.

"When speaking to a pro-Israeli group, Obama favored an undivided Jerusalem, like I favor and like John McCain favor it. Well, he favored an undivided Jerusalem - don't get too excited - for one day, until he changed his mind," he said.  "Well, I'll tell you, if I were Joe Biden, I'd want to get that VP thing in writing."
