The Popular Resistance Committees (P.R.C.) terrorist group has joined Hamas in opposing an Egyptian proposal that Cairo send its soldiers to maintain law and order in the Gaza area. "All indications refer to the fact that bringing such forces is against [the] Palestinian people’s interests," said P.R.C. leader Ayman Shishniyya.
The Fatah-led Palestinian Authority in Ramallah has backed the idea that was suggested to put a stop to the ongoing conflict between Fatah and Hamas. Shishniyya warned, "We will deal with any forces which enter the Gaza Strip for any purpose except freeing Palestinian lands, as enemies. We will not replace occupation with another occupation."
