Several Arab columnists have expressed harsh criticism of celebrations held by the Al Jazeera network for terrorist Samir Kuntar, who murdered a child. Kuntar was released along with several Hizbullah terrorists in return for the bodies of kidnapped IDF soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev. A columnist in the Kuwait daily Al-Jarida flatly labeled Kuntar a terrorist and "not a hero," according to translations provided by The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
A Saudi columnist wrote in on the London-based Al Hayat daily, "Al-Jazeera's problem in Al-Kuntar's case is not the lack of neutrality, but the overstepping of the boundaries of objectivity."
