Salim Jubran, a Christian Arab judge on Israel's High Court, ordered a freeze to the partial demolition of the home of Alaa Abu Dhaim, the murderer or eight yeshiva students in the Merkaz HaRav attack.
The order came in response to a petition filed by the terrorist's father, in which Hisam Abu Dhaim argued that the demolition of the upper stories of their house would render the whole structure uninhabitable.
In early August Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered that proceedings begin to demolish the home. Hisam Abu Dhaim's petition was advanced with the help of his Jewish attorney Andre Rosental and an Israeli civil liberties group.
