Jerusalem District Court judge Aharon Farkash ruled against the Palestinian Authority (PA) Monday evening and upheld a $116 million lawsuit filed by the family of American victims of terror. The ruling upholds the United States Supreme Court decision in 2004 that ordered the PA to pay the damages to the family of Yaron and Efrat Ungar who were murdered by terrorists near Beit Shemesh in 1996.
The family argued that the PA was responsible for allowing Hamas terrorists to carry out the attack. The PA argued that upholding the suit would open a floodgate of similar actions that could cause it to go bankrupt.
