About 40,000 reserve soldiers who served for more than 22 days in the course of 2007 will receive an "additional payment" that the Knesset decided upon recently.

The payment will be made despite a petition to the High Court filed by reservists' organization "Baltam" along with Meretz MK Avshalom Vilan which asked to withhold the bonus. The petitioners claim that giving the added pay only to some and not all reservists is an injustice.
