Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) head Yuval Diskin told the cabinet Sunday that the "calm" achieved with Hamas is "still stable" and that terrorists violated it 36 times last month with rocket and mortar shell fire, as opposed to 300 such attacks in the month that preceded the "calm."
Diskin said that Hamas is motivated to continue the "calm" but is unable to completely neutralize "rogue elements" like Islamic Jihad that continue to fire at Israel.
He added that Hamas is using the "calm" to improve its operational abilities, smuggle war supplies and dig tunnels.
