Netanyahu: Ditch 'Nakba Day' Studies in Schools

Likud party chairman and Knesset Opposition leader MK Binyamin Netanyahu has announced he intends to eliminate studies on what the Palestinian Authority Arabs refer to as "Nakba Day" ("Catastrophe Day" in Arabic) studies. They use the term to describe the founding of the State of Israel.

Netanyahu said he intends to "bring back (Ze'ev) Jabotinsky" and noted that Israel has not performed well in international competitions academically, a problem he intends to solve. "In the last math Olympics, even Iran beat us. It's a matter of national strength, of national security; the goal is to bring Israel back to the top 10 within a decade," he said.
