Hamas has raised the price tag for freeing abducted IDF soldier Gilad Shalit to 1,500 Arab prisoners, according to Israeli government sources who were briefed by Egyptian officials, the Arabic Ma'an news agency said.

Initial demands were for 450 prisoners, but recent months saw the demand rise to 1,000 and now Shalit's captors will not release him for fewer than 1,500 "Palestinian" prisoners.
