The North Atlantic Treaty Organization dismissed Russia's concerns that it is building up forces in the Black Sea area, with a group of warships from Spain, Poland, Germany and the United States, saying Thursday the ships were carrying out previously-planned routine exercises in the region.

The ships are planning a three-week tour of visits to ports in the Black Sea area and will be carrying out military exercises along the way.
