American businessman and fundraiser Moshe (Morris) Talansky is facing an interrogation by FBI investigators in connection with the deepening corruption case against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Talansky has been questioned several times since May in Israel in connection with allegations he gave Olmert tens of thousands of dollars in cash-stuffed envelopes over a period of 20 years.
The businessman's attorneys asked the Jerusalem District Court in a petition filed Wednesday to postpone any further cross-examination by Olmert's lawyers until U.S. prosecutors commit themselves to not using his testimony in Israel as evidence against him in an American court room.
