Barak: IDF's Role is to Educate and Lead

(IsraelNN.com) Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Wednesday that the IDF is "not just a fighting army but also an army whose role is to educate and lead." The IDF, he said, "sets national goals for itself that are not common in other armies, and… deals with challenges that are not necessarily military, but national."
He spoke at the opening ceremony for IAF Base 28 at Nevatim.
