(IsraelNN.com) The son of Dr. Aribert Heim, a notorious Nazi doctor dubbed Dr. Death, who practiced in Sachsenhausen and Buchenwald and put hundreds of Jewish prisoners to death by lethal injection in the Mauthausen concentration camp, wants his father declared legally dead so he can take control of his money and donate a portion of it to Holocaust education.

Ruediger Heim wants his father, who went missing in 1962 prior to prosecution for crimes against humanity, declared dead, despite reports from the head of the Israeli branch of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Nazi hunter Efraim Zuroff, that witnesses have attested to seeing Aribert Heim alive recently in South America.

Heim's bank account and investments are worth approximately $1.78 million.  In order for his children to claim the account, they have to produce proof that their father is dead.
