The Israeli Air Force Monday afternoon will fly over Ashkelon, Sderot, Netivot, and other Gaza Belt communities on its way to a new Negev base at Nevatim, between Be'er Sheva and Arad. The flyover will include the Negev cities of Dimona and Yerocham before turning westward to the base.
The base will be officially dedicated later this week in the presence of President Shimon Peres and IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi and is expected to be an economic boost to the Negev as well as reduce noise in the metropolitan Tel Aviv area.
