New York's largest kosher supermarket opened up its new 20,000 square-foot facility in Brooklyn this week, featuring everything from chickens to Asian pears and organic produce. The store, named Pomegranate, has three chefs working in separate kitchens.
Critics have said the store will face problems because of the deteriorating American economy, but owner Avraham Banda, from Williamsburg, is optimistic that the attraction of a one-stop market will win customers.
