South Ossetian President Eduard Koikoty announced Tuesday afternoon that he is hoping to unite his province with the Russian region of North Ossetia.

According to the Russian news agency, RIA-Novosti, "We have said more than once, and I want to confirm it again - we are a people divided. This is a problem and of course we will seek a union with North Ossetia," he said.
