Arkia Israel Airlines said Monday that it is unable to evacuate the more than 100 Israeli nationals waiting to leave Georgia, because radars at Tbilisi International Airport have been bombed beyond function during a recent war between Russia and Georgia which has left more than 1,500 people dead.
The airline had earlier announced that it could not advance its weekly flight, which typically leaves Georgia on Friday. Later Monday, however, the company announced that it would reroute its passengers in Georgia through Azerbaijan on a separate flight.
Aside from Georgian airlines, all major European companies have halted their flights to Georgia.
