Israel has agreed to help the PA-Fatah strengthen its "national security force" with 200 protective vests and 145 pickup trucks, Lt.-Gen. Keith Dayton was said in an interview which appeared in Haaretz Friday.
Dayton said that the shipment "eased the transfer" of PA-Fatah recruits from their training in Jordan to Judea and Samaria.
Dayton estimated that with time, PA-Fatah forces could take over security responsibility in Judea and Samaria, thus allowing the IDF to leave.
