A monument to the Jewish veterans of the Allied forces in World War 2 was inaugurated at the municipal center for the elderly at Baal HaTanya Street in Bnei Brak.
The ceremony was attended by officials from the municipality, Ministry of Absorption, and members of the Veterans' Organization of Israel.
550,000 Jewish soldiers served in the U.S. military in the war. 11,350 were killed. 500,000 Jews fought in the Soviet army and more than 206,000 were killed.
