President Shimon Peres met his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao in Beijing Friday morning and told him that China can help stop the Iranian nuclear plan.

Peres was quoted as saying: "China can be a key player in the struggle for dismantling Iran's nuclear weapons [sic] and support for terror, as you did with the United States vis-à-vis North Korea. Israel does not seek to destroy Iran, it does not threaten it; all we want is peace and stability in the Middle East, without nuclear bombs and terror attacks."

The two discussed strengthening ties between the nations in economic matters, agriculture and medicine.
