The state-funded Romanian Cultural Institute is under investigation by its government after being accused of bringing an anti-Semitic art piece to New York as part of a larger exhibition entitled, "Freedom for Lazy People."

The work that caught the attention of those who raised the issue was a miniature pink pony sporting a black swastika on its flank. The exhibition features the work of three Romanian street artists. The Institute, which has branches in 15 countries, has defended its right to display the piece under freedom of expression.
