The Amcha Coalition for Jewish Concerns will hold its annual Tisha B'Av (Ninth of Av) prayer service on Sunday at the Isaiah Peace Wall opposite the United Nations. Prayers this year will be for the safety of Israel in the face of the growing Iranian nuclear threat and Kassam rockets, for the safe return of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit and for Jews threatened by anti-Semitism and assimilation.
A Torah scroll will be present for the reading of passages for Tisha B'Av, the date of the destruction of the First and Second Holy Temples.
