A Palestinian Authority (PA) official said that PA negotiator Ahmed Qureia will bring up the status of Jerusalem in talks with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni Wednesday. The talks are to be hosted by American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Israel has said it wants to settle all other issues before bringing up the sensitive topic of Jerusalem.
"No agreement without Jerusalem," Qureia flatly told reporters after he met Secretary Rice in a preliminary discussion Tuesday. The PA has been increasingly vocal that it will not surrender "one inch" of eastern Jerusalem, which it demands as the capital of a new Arab state within Israel's current borders.
