An organization calling itself the Jewish Internet Defense Force (JIDF) took over a prominent anti-Semitic Facebook group on Sunday, and has succeeded in removing thousands of members from the virulently anti-Israel group. The action was taken after Facebook received tens of thousands of complaints about the group, said David, who asked that his last name not be used out of safety concerns.
David says he has received four death threats since the JIDF began their activities. The group, originally called "Israel is not a country! Delist it from Facebook as a country", was "one of the most vile, most anti-Semitic, most pro-Jihad and most disgusting, and most importantly, most active hate groups on the Internet," the JIDF posted on the anti-Israel group's page after it siezed control. "It actively promoted hatred, violence, murder and genocide."
The JIDF decided to rename the group's administrator titles to "Mossad Zionist", and since the takeover the number of group members has dropped from 48,000 to half of that amount. The number is dropping by the minute as a result of the JIDF's takeover.
