The Knesset State Controll Committe voted Monday to establish a committee of inquiry into the current national water crisis.

The committee will investigate the causes and solutions to the crisis, which is approaching a critical stage as the level of the Kinneret reaches new lows. Among the questions the committee hopes to answer is why a 2004 decision to desalinate 350 million cubits of water has not been implemented.
