Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas will not sign any document short of a final agreement on a new Arab state, Arab Knesset Member Ahmed Tibi maintained Monday. He reacted to reports that the American State Department is framing a "progress report" on Israeli-PA negotiations that can be presented to the United Nations General Assembly.
MK Tibi stated during a visit in Cairo that Abbas "will not agree to declarations of principle of partial documents." He is meeting with Egyptian legislators and the Egyptian foreign ministry.
