      Israeli Students Gaining Medals in Math Olympics


      The Israeli delegation to the 49th International Mathematics Olympics has been doing well and has garnered six medals so far, including one gold medal won by Dan Carmon of Aleh Science School in Lod.

      Ofir Gorodetsky and Omri Ben Eliezer, both from the Fifth Municipal School in Haifa received silver and bronze medals, respectively. Oleg Zlidenko of Mekif Gimel in Be'er Sheva received a bronze medal; Nir Ohad and Bahak Lir received honorable mentions. The two-week competition will end Tuesday.

      Israeli students also did well in the RoboCup robot competition in China: students from Ort Givat Ram and Ohel Shem finished in first place in the dancing robot category.
